Places To Visit On Everest Base Camp Trek
You already are a bit familiar with some attractions from above. Besides these valleys and more, there are some other attractions or places along the way which you should not miss. You will not miss the view from Tengboche hill because it is on your way to the base camp. Let’s talk about those places that don’t remain on the way and need to do some exploration hikes to visit which are listed below.
Everest View Hotel
Everest view hotel is a luxury hotel in the Everest region. It is located on a hill station at the altitude of 3880m above sea level. Everest view hotel is in an open area so it offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Everest Himalaya. You can see Amadablam, Thamserku, Lhotse, Nuptse, Kusum Kangaroo and many more other big mountains including Everest from this place.
This place can be visited during an acclimatization day hike from Namche Bazaar while you will have a rest day. Before reaching the Everest view hotel, you will pass the highest rough airport Syangboche. You can come back to Namche after visiting Everest view hotel or can hike to Khumjung village. Khumjung village has a monastery with a skull of Yeti.
Nangkar-Tsang Hill
Nangkar-Tsang hill is near Dingboche which you can climb during in altitude practice rest day. It is more than 5000 meters elevated hill which offers magnificent views of the mountain, valley and more. You will not see the Everest from this hill but the next one that you can see is Makalu. Mt. Makalu is not in the Everest region and it is the 4th highest mountain in Nepal and 5th in the world. This hill is only the place from where you can see this mountain along the way to the Everest base camp. You also can see this mountain from Gokyo Ri and Renjo la pass top from Gokyo lake trekking side.
Kala Patthar
5550 meters elevated this hill offers scenic 360 degrees Mountain View from its top. You can reach the top from Gorakshep in 2hrs walk. You need to climb early morning so it will be very clod. There will be windy and feel freezing when there won’t heat by sunlight. This is the hill from where you can see the closest view of Mt. Everest and many mountains all around you.
A pyramid-shaped mountain Pumori is very close to this hill and you can see long and big Khumbu glacier and some glacial lakes lower. Many trekkers get tired after visiting the base camp and don’t think about climbing this hill. Visiting the base camp is only for the goal but it doesn’t offer such a beautiful view as Kala Patthar offers.
