Going bohemian in your bedroom!
Embracing colours
Colour in your bedroom is not going to keep you up at night. The colours you use there are completely up to you but instead of focussing on matching, and using complementing tones, you can be more spontaneous. Mix your colours and let your bedding, your walls, your flooring and even your ceiling become something more like a festival, bright, interesting and zany. It is okay to choose a colourful bohemian macrame wall hanging rather than trying to stay neutral for example. Or have something colourful on bedding that is already colourful. Choose a wallpaper that is a burst of colour rather than one paint colour.
Create a bohemian bed
Your bed can be made to be bohemian not just with the bedding you choose to put on it, but also the furniture itself. Choose something rustic and wooden as they do well in a bohemian-themed bedroom, place a colourful rug next to the bed, have a woven wall hanging above it on the wall, and add in fun and eclectic cushions. Choose things because you love them, and mix not just colours but patterns too. Add over the top of the bed a lovely soft bohemian blanket you can pull off and snuggle into when you want to.

Create warm lighting
In a bohemian-style room, you want to have lighting that is soft, warm and comforting. Consider vintage options on how to diffuse the lighting in the room to create this effect. You might find some antique light shades, some vintage light shades, some different types of lanterns, for example. Hanging up a boho macrame wall hanging in this kind of lighting will only enhance its appeal.
Find interesting furniture with a history
A more bohemian look in your bedroom includes not choosing boring, modern matching furniture! Look in your local thrift stores and antique stores for armoires, cupboards you can paint, and old trunks for your blankets. You can even go more eclectic with smaller things like photo frames, carvings, knickknacks, plant holders and such. Think about how they will add character and a story to the room.
Fill in space on the walls
Walls in a bohemian bedroom are not left blank. You can really let your creativity and thoughts go wild here. A bohemian macrame wall hanging across one wall, an old tapestry on another, colourful flags, different things that are playful and create a space that is personalised and inviting.
