History of Amer Fort
The grand Amer Fort was established in the 16th century which was initiated by Raja Man Singh II, the founder of Jaipur City. The Amer Fort was built by Raja Man Singh I in the 16th century and was completed by Sawai Jai Singh in the 18th Century. Today the fort is famed for its architectural brilliance which showcases the opulence of the Maharajas lifestyle.
Major highlights of Amer Fort
Jaleb Chowk-
The front entrance to the palace leads to the first main courtyard, called the Jaleb Chowk. It was a place where armies would hold victory parades with their war reward on their return from the battle, witness the royal families women folk dance through the latticed windows.
Diwan-e-Aam-
The staircase from Jaleb Chowk to the main courtyard, leads to Diwan-e-Aam. It was the place where Maharajas use to conduct a public audience with his citizens.
Ganesh Pol-
Ganesh pol or Ganesh gate was named after a Hindu god Ganesh, who remove all the obstacles from life, is the entrance to the private palaces of Maharajas. It is a three-story structure with various frescos which were constructed at the orders of Mirza Raja Jai Singh.
Sheesh Mahal-

Sukh Niwas-
The another building is Sukh Niwas or the pleasure palace. The specialty of this structure of the palace is that the chilly climate withing it was artificially created – there is a channel running all the way through the hall, which carries cold water that worked as an air cooler.
Final Courtyard-
This is the oldest part of the palace and was used by the queens for their general meetings. This courtyard belongs to the zenana (royal family women) lived. It has many living rooms where the queens used to reside.
Elephant Ride-
