Hyde Park is an amazing place to spend a day in London, whether it’s chilling out on a summer’s day, enjoying the activities on offer (horse riding, boating, etc), visiting the British Summer Time Festival, the Winter Wonderland experience, or just going for a stroll. But when the sun goes down there is still plenty to enjoy in the surrounding areas without needing to hop on the Tube to find some more entertainment.
There are plenty of exciting bars to spend your evening in after a fun day in Hyde Park, so here’s our guide to the best ones to visit:
Fifth Floor Bar, Harvey Nichols
One of the most iconic bars near Hyde Park, the Fifth Floor Bar at Harvey Nicks is an ideal place to enjoy a sophisticated cocktail in fancy surroundings. Set in the ultra-posh Knightsbridge area and with a modern, metallic design, it’s maybe not to place to head to if you’ve been moshing at a heavy metal festival in the park, but after a stylish picnic session with your friends, it’s the perfect place for a nightcap.
Hard Rock Cafe
If you HAVE just been moshing at a heavy metal festival, maybe this is the better place to head to. With great food and tunes on offer too and the usual host of rock ‘n’ roll history up on the walls to check out, the Hard Rock Cafe’s bar is well worth checking out for cocktails and the chance to make Mayfair slightly more disreputable for a few hours.
Trader Vic's
This Mayfair bar couldn’t be further away from the Hard Rock Cafe in terms of style and sophistication, with its influences coming from around the world rather than the world of rock. For a fun evening out near Hyde Park, this tiki bar can’t really be beaten, giving you the chance to enjoy authentic cocktails from the Middle East, Asia and beyond in a themed setting that makes you forget you’re still in England.
Vagabond Paddington
Paddington isn’t short of great bars either, so if you’re on your way out of Hyde Park in that direction, why not check out the Vagabond, which has over 120 wines on offer at any one time. You won’t get to try them all, especially as there are always new ones coming in. So, if wine is your thing, there are few better places to check out after a day in the park.
Boisdale Of Mayfair
If you’re after some live music in a laidback setting, this Mayfair jazz bar offers exactly that, as you’d expect from anywhere that has the legendary Jools Holland as a patron. Along with the live jazz, soul and blues, there’s plenty of drinks to enjoy and even a cigar terrace if you’re in the mood for that kind of celebration. Plenty of celebrities in London hang out here, so who knows who you might spot?
With all of these great bars around the park to visit, and hotels like the Park Grand Hotel Hyde Park also nearby, there are so many reasons to book a visit to this area soon. Hyde Park’s proximity to many of the city’s classiest districts means that you’re never far away from somewhere to cool down with a nice drink, so why not check out what London Hotel Offers are on and start planning your trip today?
