Check them out and enjoy!
Acne breakouts
Acne breakouts are definitely one of the most common skin problems that occur during summer. No matter what people may say, acne shouldn’t be linked to teenager skin only – the fact is that adults can break out, too, which depends on a lot of different factors. When sweat mixes with bacteria and oils naturally found in your skin, it’s highly likely that this combo will clog your pores. This often leads to breakouts – especially if you have skin prone to acne. Of course, this goes for both your face and the rest of your body, as acne can show up on your back, shoulders, and chest, too.
In order to prevent a potential breakout, you should stop touching your face and wiping off the sweat in the first place. Instead, blot your face with a clean cloth or towel. Besides that, you should also use non-comedogenic products on your face or any other body part that tends to break out. These are usually quite lightweight and oil-free, which means that they won’t clog your pores and wreak havoc on your skin. You should also wash your face at least three to four times a day to remove the grease that settles on your face.
Dry, irritated skin
On the other hand, there are also people with extremely dry skin which can cause potential problems as well. Their skin stays dry and irritated even when the outdoor air is hot and humid, which can definitely be quite frustrating and aggravating. Of course, your dry skin shouldn’t stop you from spending time at the beach or by the pool, as there are a lot of good ways to keep any skin problem under control. First of all, you should shower and use a gentle body wash immediately after getting out of the pool. Clean, fresh water in combination with a mild cleanser will certainly do the trick for your skin. You shouldn’t skip quality skincare products that calm your sensitive skin either. These will soothe your skin and maintain healthy-looking, even-toned complexion simply because they have been developed specifically for sensitive skin.
Sunscreen is a huge must, too, so use a nice cream with SPF 30+. Apart from these, you should make sure not to take too hot baths or showers, as they’re likely to dry out your skin even more. Take a lukewarm shower instead and don’t forget to slather on a fragrance-free moisturizer afterwards. It will keep your skin hydrated all day long, especially if you apply it within five minutes of taking a shower. Your pores will be open which will allow the skincare product to penetrate deeper into the skin and nourish it from within.
Razor burns
No matter if you’re a man or a woman, summer undoubtedly means a lot more shaving, which leads us to the next common skin problem: razor burns. Needless to say, this one isn’t as serious as the previous two, as it’s a temporary skin irritation caused by an improper shaving technique. However, we can also say that it can be quite painful and annoying, which is why razor burns found their place on our list. Using a dull razor, as well as shaving too closely or too harshly are what usually causes these, and you should also know that razor burns can also cause bumps that are exacerbated when you’re at the beach or in a water park.
Apart from these, closely shaven hair often has a sharp edge so that it often penetrates back into the skin, causing swelling and inflammation. In order to prevent this common skin problem, be sure to cleanse your skin thoroughly before shaving. Taking a hot shower is a fantastic idea, as it will open the pores and promote relaxation. A good quality razor is an absolute must, but you can always opt for an electric one if that’s your cup of tea. A rich shaving cream is another essential, as it creates a thick layer between your skin and the razor in order to provide a smooth surface. When you’re done with shaving, rinse with cold water to close the pores and voila – you’ve avoided razor burns like a true pro!
As you can see, these three skin problems are definitely the most common ones during summer, and we’re sure that you’ve experienced at least one of them lately. In order to prevent them, just stick to our tips and tricks and you’ll instantly see a fantastic improvement!
