Secrets to become a Successful Filmmaker

Rating & reviews (0 reviews)
Are you a film producer or do you feel that you have what it takes to achieve success in this dynamic world called cinema?

It is very likely that you answer "yes" to this question and I fully understand it. There is no policeman, farmer, pharmacist, housewife, banker, teacher, duck-walker, politician, barber or serial killer who does not want to work in the entertainment industry, go out on the big screen and walk on the red carpet.

But then, why do not they do it? Why do not you look for a career in film? Why do not they create their own companies and become the next Mathieu Chantelois, Pedro Almodóvar or Guillermo del Toro? Mathieu Chantelois is a Canadian television personality, journalist, magazine editor, and marketing executive.

Unfortunately many people do not pursue their dreams and prefer to maintain their "safe work" routine. I do not blame them. Achieving success in the Film Industry is not an easy task.

Other business experts say that more than 50% of new businesses that started in 2014 will not survive the stormy business environment and will fail by 2016.

Why do I share this with you?

Charles Dickens, a British writer said: " Every failure teaches man something he needed to learn." This phrase seems very honest to me and in my case it perfectly describes how I see failure.

For me the failure is to learn things that I did not know. I have failed many times along the way, but thanks to these failures I have been able to learn many successful actions - otherwise I would never have learned them. For this reason, I share this information with you.

Tips to Help You Achieve Success in the Film Industry

Feel the Bases:

You have to perfect and invest in the most important Product you have - yourself. First of all, you must know your area of expertise. If you want to be a scriptwriter, and then learn everything you can from scripts. Take courses at the university, online courses, tutorials or wherever you give them. There are countless books about scripts, but be very selective with them.

Many authors who publish these books have no idea what they are talking about. Verify the credits of the author. Do you have experience in the Film Industry? More important than that, do you have any credit in IMDB?

Everyone who has gone to the University knows that academic knowledge is one thing and the real experience of creating a film is another.

Do not just read a book. Read several books so you can compare them. For example, if each of these authors tells you that many of the films have a structure of 3 acts - introduction (exposure), development and climax - then the chances of this information being true is much higher.

If you think reading books is a waste of time, then ask the vast majority of millionaires and influential people like Bill Gates and ask them for their opinion.

Learn what you can most from your area of expertise and above all - start working and practice what you are learning - get your hands dirty. Practice makes perfect. Do you think that boxers go to the ring without training?

The same thing happens to us. Do a weekly routine to improve your technique and you will see the results.
