A transformer is the basic and one of the important component in the electrical power system. It generally transforms electricity with a voltage & current level into electricity with another voltage & current level. These transformers are basically divided into two types: Step-up and Step-Down Transformers. A Transformers manufacturers India basically consists of a core, coil, insulating material and coating. The core is made up of laminated steel cases while the coil is a winding of copper wire across the core. There are two windings in a transformer: the primary winding and the secondary winding. The power supply which is to be converted is given at the primary winding while the converted power supply is received at the secondary winding.

Since the transformer contains copper winding and a steel core and works on high voltage or current, several losses occur in a transformer like the copper loss, iron loss, I²R loss etc. The I²R losses occur in the form of heat due to a high current which in-turn heats-up the transformer. Sometimes, this generated heat is powerful enough to burn up the transformer and also leads to an increase in other losses too. Therefore, a transformer is always filled with a coolant material like a special type of oil, also known as Transformer Oil.

The Transformer oil is a very valuable part of a transformer as it serves as a coolant material as well as insulating fluid. The oil filled in the transformer should be insulating in nature otherwise a short circuit will occur in it. The transformer oil initially is contaminated with sludge and dirt particles. Therefore, it should be purified first before it can be used in the transformers. There are several oil purification plants that provide the services of Transformer Oil Purification. The Filter machine available on rental basis is carried out in three simple steps.

In the first step, the transformer oil is poured into a clean container where it is heated to a certain temperature, generally, 65-degree Celsius. Due to the heating of the oil, the moisture content of the oil vaporizes along with some gases that contaminate the oil.

In the second step, the dirt particles and sludge are removed from the oil by centrifugal process or sludge filtration process. In this step, most of the contamination in the oil is removed and the only contamination that is left in the oil is dissolved gases.

These dissolved gases are filtered out in the degasification chamber and it is the 3rd step of Transformers oil filtration services.

Thus, in this way the purification of Transformer Oil takes place.
