How did you get started in music?
After hearing songs like “Respiration” by Blackstar, I wanted to rap & on the Gospel side hip-hop groups such as Tunnel Rats, G.R.I.T.S., Cross Movement to name a few.

What has been a huge accomplishment in your career thus far?
Under my former moniker Barz Noble receiving the Akademia Music Award of Best Rap/Hip-Hop Music Video for the song “Rainset” from my 2nd LP “S.C.O.A.P.” (Soul Chapters Of A Poetic). & my 1st LP “Symphonic Signatures,” under former moniker 6 cuts were nominated for the Caribbean Music Awards.

Which song by you is your personal favorite?
It would be “Keep It Moving Regardless” from S.C.O.A.P.

Who would you love to open for?
Honestly, I would love to open for artist who exemplifies a level of integrity in their craft & has a consistent upswing momentum going not limited to a genre but positive energy affecting & strengthens those around them to do our part in having a solid show.

Where is your dream venue to perform at?
The Apollo Theater

What inspires you when you write music?
LIFE inspires me & I put it in rhymes.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Staying active & like one of my songs as I had earlier mentioned from the S.C.O.A.P. LP “Keep It Moving Regardless.”

What do you think makes you different from other artists?
I have found my lane & staying in it evolving but not at the price of compromising my creative expression in having a message in the music that I put out from past to current.

How do you feel when you write music?
Its therapy of sorts whenever I write to music that speaks to me at it doesn’t have to be the most complex joint it could be simple yet it connects & hits.

How has quarantine and covid effected your music career?
I have a 9 to 5 but it actually afforded me more time to create & record more tracks for future stuff to further build under my new moniker NRBARZ.

What do you think the music industry will be like after covid?
Influx of new releases & vigorous touring of artist together.

What can we expect from you in the upcoming months?
I just released earlier this year of my current release of my 3^rd solo LP “T.S.I.R.” (The Struggle Is Real) but under my new moniker NRBARZ and following up in continuing to create new tracks for both an EP series and a follow-up to “T.S.I.R.” album but new music I am working on indeed.

Do you have any rituals for when you write or sing in the studio?
Just vibing to a track that I am working on listen to it repeatedly & then lyrically build on it.

What do you miss most about performing?
Connecting with people face to face that have a genuine love for the music.
