Finding a Laptop

Laptops were first designed to be a portable electronic device for business people who were often on the go traveling for work. Since the time of them having no battery, costing as much as a small car and weighing over twenty pounds, they have come a long way! As companies competed with each other to develop new and better products, we come to today's laptop, made for everyone, light, affordable and with a battery so you can use it when you are not near a power source. Laptops sell better than desktop computers now and often what can make a buyer choose one model and company over another is the length of the battery life.

But what people do not always realize is that a battery has a limited life, whether it is an Asus laptop battery or another company. After a while, you may start to notice that it is giving you the low battery message quicker than before and that when you do re-charge the battery that charge does not seem to hold as well as it once did. Batteries have a  lifespan that varies between different companies. If you rely heavily on being able to use the laptop on the battery charge, you may want to consider getting yourself a new laptop battery.

If you realize it has been a while using your laptop and the battery it came with, and you have not changed it at any point in about 4 years, then a new battery is certainly a good idea. A battery that is not working well anymore is not just an inconvenience, it could affect your work output, and you are at risk of losing power at any point which could lose some data you are working on if you have not saved recently.

Laptop batteries come in different setups, ranging from 12 cell batteries down to 3 cell batteries. Each manufacturer has a different design so if you have a Dell laptop you need to get Dell battery, if you have an Asus laptop you need an Asus laptop battery and so on. They do vary in cost but the improved function is definitely worth the cost. With the speed at which technology development is moving, sometimes after 4 years those with no budget restraints chose to get a new laptop that comes with a more modern and efficient laptop battery already.

If you have an Asus laptop battery (or any other type) that is starting to have issues, there are things you can do for a little while to improve its performance. Your hard disks should be defragged, avoid using a very bright screen that drains the battery, lessen how many programs you have going in the background, avoid using the CD drives and even place in more RAM. This can help the battery last longer until you are ready to go and get a replacement.
