What comes to your mind when you hear the word counter? A device used for keeping a count of people or objects in any kind of environment. Retail counters can be made of wood, glass or melamine depending on the individual’s budget and requirement. These counters segregate items in an organized manner making it easier for the customers to locate a particular object of their choice. They can be found in grocery stores, jewelry stores and garment stores. Store counters are relatively small in size as compared to retail counters as they are used as a mode of separation between the customer and the retailer and therefore a small cubicle of the required size is sufficient. They are used for identification and tracking purposes where the object is not visibly seen but can be tracked from a certain distance. It can be implanted in anything, be it objects or people thereby leading to a lot of security issues. It is largely used in industries in the manufacturing process where the progress of every stage can be tracked using this technology.
