There are opportunities for fit walkers to challenge themselves on rather lengthy walks of up to 23 km. What can I expect to see along the walk?
The Cape to Cape Walk Track commences at Cape Leeuwin and finishes at Cape Naturaliste. As you head north through Western Australia, you will pass through August, Cape Hamelin, Cosy Corner, Boranup Forest, Redgate, Gnarabup, Margaret River, Ellenbrook, Grace Town, Wilyabrup Cliffs, Moses Rock, Yallingup, and Sugarloaf Rock.
Why is it called the Cape to Cape Walk?
The Cape to Cape Walk is a trek between Cape Leeuwin and Cape Naturaliste. Cape Leeuwin is located at the most south-westerly mainland point in Western Australia. Cape Leeuwin is known for its iconic lighthouse which is the tallest on mainland Australia. At this point you can see the intersection between the Southern Ocean and the Indian Ocean. At the other end of the walk, Cape Naturaliste is located at the western edge of Geographe Bay. It is the northernmost point of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste ridge. There is also a lighthouse at Cape Naturaliste which overlooks the headland.

The best time is between March and May and September and November. While avoiding the Summer and Winter months is ideal, the walk can still be completed with extra effort. During the Autumn months, the weather is pleasant and swimming is a great option. During the Spring months, you will witness wildflowers.
What do I need to take with me?
Ensure that you acquire appropriate and adequate clothing, footwear and walking equipment. There are limited shops and resting points along the walk, so it is important that you are well equipped with all that you need. Remember, do not take too many items as the weight can slow you down!

Of course, with a group guided tour there are restrictions on time. However, the team is flexible and they ensure that everyone completes the walk without rush, so no memorable highlights are missed.
Do we have to complete the entire walk?
If you are a member of the group guided walking tour, it is recommended that you stay with the group for the entire time. Auswalk may allow you to depart before the finish, however this needs to be agreed beforehand. While you might feel daunted by the prospect of completing a 135 km walk, the walk has been designed to be manageable for all.
Is their mobile reception along the walk?
Mobile connectivity is sparse. While you might gain reception at various points throughout the walk, it is not guaranteed at every point. The beauty of completing this walk is that you should focus on Australia’s nature, the diverse environment and the pristine landscapes. Avoid electronic devices that cause distractions – except your camera!
What is the food and accommodation like?
