How to get in there?

If you want to travel by air, take a flight from Delhi or Varanasi to Khajuraho and then drive straight to Tala Park entrance which takes approximately 8 hours to reach. To reach Bandhavgarh by train, the nearest railhead to Bandhavgarh is Umaria, which takes approximately 40 minutes to reach the wildlife reserve.

Best time to visit

The months of October to June are observed to be the best time to visit Bandhavgarh National Park. During winters the climate remains pleasant and moderate which is perfect for exploring the wildlife reserve. Bandhavgarh National Park remains closed during the monsoon season (July to September).

  • Village Tala – it offers an inside glimpse into the life and times of a typical village with all its splendid charm. 

  • Climber’s point - surrounded by Sal and Bamboo trees, it is a home of unique fauna species like Bauhini Wahli and Butea Superba. 

  • Bari Gufa – the Giant Cave is the biggest man-made cave in a wildlife reserve. 

  • Kethika – it is also known as the Pendanus Point which is famous for an aromatic plant called Kewra. 

  • Three cave point – the architectural techniques of caves used in earlier times along with leopards, tigers, and sloth bear that live here. 

  • Rajbahera - the marshy meadow is the place from where the river Dammer originates. 

  • Mahaman Pond – the beautiful pong is surrounded by bamboo clumps and herding wild creatures. 

  • The Shesh Shaya – 11-meter long statue of Lord Vishnu in the laying position with an umbrella of “Shesh Nag” with “Shivling” and “Lord Brahma”. 

  • Cheshpur waterfalls – located 50 kilometers inside Bandhavgarh which is one of the best places to visit in a wildlife reserve. 

  • Jwalamukhi Temple – the religious Shrine is dedicated to Goddess Jwalamukhi.
