Rating & reviews (0 reviews)
2017 is turning out to be the year that makes you go, “Wow, I did not know I was going to have this much fun!” In 2017, we got many exciting game releases, and this autumn is turning out to be the best season of the year. Fans of Tolkien, South Park, and Call of Duty, as well as players who like to enter new universes, have a lot to look forward to. Also, gamers who prefer different types of video games also have a lot to be excited about.

So, without further ado, here are the 7 games we’re most excited about this autumn.

1.    South Park: The Fractured but Whole

Is there anyone who is not super excited about the release of South Park: The Fractured But Whole?

The story will continue directly after South Park: The Stick of Truth, and this time Cartman and his friends are going to be superheroes. When Cartman’s plans for a movie franchise splinters the boys into two groups, chaos will ensue in the little Colorado town of South Park. The player will be able to control the New Kid, just as in South Park: The Stick of Truth, but this time, you may be able to also choose the gender of the New Kid.1. South Park: The Fractured but Whole

Set to release on October 17, South Park: The Fractured but Whole is bound to entertain both fans of the show, and casual gamers who like to play games laced with comedy.

2.    Call of Duty WW2

The new Call of Duty WW2 is set to be released on November 3rd, in line with Call of Duty’s previous installments (which were also released in November). Understandably, Call of Duty is generating a great buzz among the gaming community, especially since this year, the storyline will be a little bit different in comparison to the previous versions of the game.

In Call of Duty WW2, the game’s storyline will follow the US 1st Infantry Division and records their European battles of World War Two. We will see conic battles, such as D-Day Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge, along with many others. Story-wise, the player will control a certain Private Daniels, an inexperienced soldier thrust into war, but, allegedly, players will also be able to control a woman of the French resistance in addition to Private Daniels.

3.    Vampyr

Vampyr will throw you back further in time than World War 2. Set in 1918 in London at the start of the flu epidemic, the story follows a goodwill doctor who has recently been turned into a vampire. From the makers of Life is Strange, Vampyr is expected to be an exciting tale of a doctor who is caught between his desire to kill victims and save people.

The action RPG game will be released in November 2017 and is bound to be a gritty tale that will both entertain you and enable you to live the life of a vampire.

4.    The Legend of Shangri-La

Being more of a gambling game, this is a unique one in our list, but we love it nonetheless! In fact, the best thing about gambling games are bonuses. Before trying this game, you can claim a casino bonus over at Netbet for example, which will enhance your experience even more.

The Legend of Shangri-La is still shrouded in mystery, regarding gameplay. All we know so far is that it will be set in the fictional universe of the novel Lost Horizon, written by James Hilton. The Shangri-La of Lost Horizon was a fictional utopia set in the Himalayans, so we can at least expect a far-eastern setting, similar to the setting of the game Lights. The word “Legend” in the title, however, alludes to following different characters on a quest, similar to the Fairytale Legends series. All we can say is that we hardly wait for the game’s release mid-September. Need for Speed: Payback

5.    Star Wars: Battlefront II

Have you ever wanted to know what it would feel like to watch the second Death Star be blown out of the sky? Have you ever wondered what you will do after your side loses the war?

Well, now you can! In the new Star Wars: Battlefront II, you will fill the shoes of the Empire commander Iden Versio, who vows revenge after watching the Death Star explode above. In a story that spans more than 30 years, with Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren appearing as playable characters, and multiplayer battles, your quest for revenge will take on a new meaning entirely.

Set to release on November 27th, Star Wars Battlefront II is the game every fan of Star Wars has been waiting for!

6.    Need for Speed: Payback

Need for Speed: Payback, set to release on November 10th, 2017, will be the 23rd overall installment in the Need for Speed series. So, if you’re interested in to heists, car chases, theft, and good old-fashioned speeding through the desert, the newest installment will give you that and more!

The single player story will follow Tyler, Jess, and Mac as they try to bring down the mysterious House, an underground cartel, via many car chases and desert heists. The House seems to have acquired new, sci-fi like tech, and the trio will attempt to take it from them in order to bring them down. So, prepare for racing, exciting locations and a lot of fun this autumn!

7.    Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Middle Earth: Shadow of War is the title that follows Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor – the game that convinced us that Tolkien’s universe has yet to be completely explored and enjoyed. The setting of the game remains, obviously, Middle Earth, and the players will be able to explore the open world and enjoying a new story.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War will be released on October 10th, 2017. Again, players will control Talion. This time around, he is trying to forge a new ring of power. Also, if you ever wanted to feel what Frodo felt on a flying mount, Shadow of War has got your back – because we get flying mounts in this installment, as well as more interesting villains and enemies. All in all, Middle Earth: Shadow of War is shaping up to be the best game in Tolkien’s universe so far.
